Regional Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) in Los Angeles is part of the effort of the Indian government to increase its engagement with the large Indian-American community, which numbers more than three million.
A joint statement issued after the first India US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, appreciated the intense engagement between the two countries under various institutional bilateral dialogue mechanisms and people-to-people contacts.
It welcomed India's announcement to hold a regional Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) in Los Angeles in November this year, to further increase people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
