A 23-year-old Indian man drowned while swimming in the Arabian Sea in the UAE, police said today.
The man, identified only by his initials A M M, was swimming with two other friends near a luxury hotel in Fujairah yesterday when he drowned, Khaleej Times reported.
Ambulance, rescue personnel and policemen rushed to the sea and fished out the man's body.
Police are investigating the incident and the body will undergo an autopsy, Major Saeed Al Hassani of Fujairah Police said.
Police have asked all swimmers to exercise extra caution due to rough weather. The region has seen heavy rains and strong winds, resulting in high waves over the past few days.
