Buoyed by skipper Aditya Tare's 55-ball century, holders Indian Oil defended their PSPB T20 tournament title successfully by beating BPCL by 10 runs here today.
In the match played at MIG Ground yesterday, hosts Indian Oil elected to bat. Opening batsman Tare notched up a brilliant ton, which was laced by 11 fours and four sixes.
Ravikant Shukla (34), Abbas Ali (16) and Mandar Phadke (13) also chipped in with runs to guide the team to a challenging total of 188 for 6.
In reply, despite struggling at 80 for five, BPCL gave a stiff fight with skipper Suryakant Yadav's 49-ball 99.
But Yadav's effort went in vain as the visitors fell short of the target to finish at 178 for eight.
