Kamaljit Sidhu was subjected to a "sustained campaign of harassment" by Ryan Dey, after she finished with him, Birmingham Crown Court was told.
Dey was accused of harassing and stalking Sidhu for several months. After living in "fear and torment" of her ex-boyfriend, she leaped from a bridge to her death.
Dey has been jailed for two years.
He was arrested in November last year, a month after Sidhu's death.
The court was told how lorry driver Dey had been seeing Kamaljit for around 18 months when she tried to end the relationship last October.
Sidhu even made comments on social media stating she was scared of her ex-boyfriend before killing herself on October 25.
On the night she died, Sidhu tried to call her parents but they had disconnected their phone because Dey had been calling them so much.
The court heard that she left a message on a bottle of moisturiser saying: "I love you all. I just got weak, I'm sorry."
Speaking after the sentencing last week, Sidhu's mother Sarbjit Sidhu, said: "Ryan Dey is evil, he is a bully and a coward and had put my daughter through hell with his control and abuse and will never be forgiven for what he has caused.
Detective Chief Inspector Kim Madill, of West Midlands Police Pubic Protection Unit, described the case as a difficult, challenging and deeply upsetting to investigate.
"To bring such a case to court, without a victim to give evidence, is both unusual and challenging and so it is pleasing to see that a successful prosecution can bring some sense of justice to the Sidhu family and our thoughts continue to be with them at this difficult time," he said.
