The Orissa High Court granted bail on Thursday to industrialist Mahimananda Mishra, who had surrendered before the police last year, in a murder case.
Mishra is an accused in the murder case of one Mahendra Swain, a local manager of a stevedores firm. Swain was killed in 2016.
Justice D Dash granted bail to Mishra after his counsel Joydip Pal told the court that the trial in the case has begun and examination of 40 key witnesses by the prosecution has been completed.
Mishra is currently admitted at the AIIMS in Bhubaneswar.
He was arrested by Paradip police in December 2017 for his alleged role in the murder. In May last year he was granted bail by the High Court that was revoked by the Supreme Court in December, following which he surrendered.
