Infant girl drowns in pit filled with rainwater

A 2-year-old girl drowned here today in a four-feet-deep pit full of rain water, police said.
The deceased was identified as Aaysha, a resident of Pooja Vihar in Ambala Cantt. The father of the girl is a migrant labourer, they said.
The girl fell into the pit near her house while playing
When her parents did not see her for some time, they searched for her and found her lying unconscious in the pit.
She was taken to hospital where doctor declared her dead, they said.
