Intense heat in Jamshedpur

The steel city of Jamshedpur and adjacent areas are reeling under intense heat with maximum temperature soaring above 43 degree Celsius today.
The maximum temperature in the steel city was recorded at 43.1 degree Celsius, which was five degree above normal, while the minimum temperature was 29.6 degree Celsius, also three degree above normal, Met office sources said.
The streets of the steel city wore a deserted look as the people preferred to remain indoor due to the scorching heat prevailing for the last fortnight.
The District Civil Surgeon, Dr. L B P Singh said the administration has advised the people to take all precautionary measures before venturing out in day time.
We have received some cases related to heat wave but no one was hospitalized, barring two suspected death of two children due to heat wave during the period in Chakulia, he said.
