"Total investment made in renewable energy sector in all states, including Jharkhand and Gujarat, during the last three years is Rs 90,841.16 crore," New & Renewable Energy Minister Piyush Goyal said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
The minister also informed the House that the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has provided financial support of Rs 6,541.04 crore towards capital subsidy/viability gas funding/ generation based incentives in the three-year period till March 31, 2016.
In a separate reply, the minister said that the ministry has released Rs 941.88 crore to the states under schemes for providing solar power to villages in the country.
In another reply to the House, the minister said, "During the 12th Five Year Plan Period, against the target of 88,537 MW generation capacity additions from conventional sources, 84,990.7 MW has been achieved as on March 31, 2016."
