In a major reshuffle in the IPS cadre, the state government has removed Ajay Kumar Nand from the post of Director-Security, West Bengal, and replaced him with Vineet Kumar Goyal, an official notification said.
Nand will now take over as Additional Commissioner-II, Kolkata Police, it said.
Goyal, who was working as Additional Commissioner-I, Kolkata Police, has been asked to take over his new assignment, in the rank of Inspector General of Police, with immediate effect.
Jawed Shamim, who was Additional Commissioner-II, Kolkata Police, will be replacing Goyal, the notification added.
