A memorandum of Understanding with UPICO has been signed to provide training in various areas like catering, cooking and maintaining cleanliness at stations, said IRCTC CMD A K Manocha.
The MoU was signed by Manocha and UPICO MD Pravin Singh here to conduct a certified course for students and youth to upgrade their skills under the "Hunar Se Rojgar Tak" scheme in Uttar Pradesh.
The training will also cover auto and taxi drivers operating at various railway stations like Benaras and Agra.
"The aim is to make the drivers tourist friendly," said Manocha, adding "Training will also be given to porters so that they become passenger-friendly."
UPICO will also maintain data of all the candidates trained and share the data with the IRCTC.
The training period will be for six weeks which can be extended to eight weeks if required.
