Islamic scholar passes away

: Veteran Islamic scholar and General Secretary of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama Zainudheen Musliyar died following old-age related ailments at a private hospital here today, hospital sources said. He was 79 and leaves behind wife and four children. Popularly known as Cherussery Zainudheen Musliyar, he made rich contributions to the growth of Islamic movement in the state.
He had been serving as the general secretary of the outfit since 1996.
People from various walks of life condoled the demise of the scholar.
