"After the BJP-led government came to power at the Centre, communalism is on the rise and the minority community is facing a lot of problems. Muslims are feeling insecure and BJP's promises proved to be hollow and meaningless," IUML National Vice President Dastagir Aga said, addressing reporters here.
He said that the IUML has decided to contest the forthcoming elections to ensure that "communal parties" do not come to power in the state.
The party which has a prominent presence in Kerala, announced the names of three candidates who will contest the forthcoming polls in Mumbai.
Maharashtra Assembly has 288 members.
Rehan Khan will contest from the Byculla constituency, Khalid Mamun will be contesting from Mumbadevi constituency and Dastagir Aga will contest from the Colaba constituency.
