J-K govt launches 'Prayas service' for public complaints

Jammu and Kashmir government has launched 'Prayas' service for registration of public complaints in Kathua district of the state.
'PRAYAS', an effort to facilitate the people of far off areas lodge their complaints telephonically, was launched at the Kathua district headquarter by District Development Commissioner Jitendra K Singh.
During an hour long session from 10:00 AM till 11:00 AM, the DDC, along with the district officers attended the complaints, an official spokesman said today.
The callers from remote areas of Lohai, Malhar, Billawar and from within the city limits lodged their grievances and sought the redressal of the same.
Problems ranging from low voltage, damaged transformers, drinking water supply, shortage of school staff, traffic management, bad roads, ration quota and its proper distribution etc were registered, officials said.
The DDC on the occasion said that all these complaints will be registered in the public grievance cell and would be further delivered to the concerned officers through E mail for redressal within one week's time.
Many callers welcomed this effort called 'PRAYAS' by the District Administration Kathua.
This activity will be a permanent feature and public can ring up between 10 Am to 11 AM every Wednesday at the dedicated phone no. 01922-238796, officials said.
