J-K govt reschedules office, school timings in Kashmir

The Jammu and Kashmir government has rescheduled the office timings in the summer capital here from tomorrow, which would remain in effect till March 31 next year.
Working hours in all the government offices, except educational institutions in Kashmir valley shall be from 10.30 AM to 4.30 PM from November 1, as ordered by the Divisional Commissioner of Kashmir yesterday, an official spokesman said here today.
The timings shall remain operative up to March 31, 2016, he said.
Authorities have also made changes in the school timings.
New timings in all government as well as recognised private schools within the municipal limits of Srinagar city shall be from 10 AM to 3 PM, according to an order by Director, School Education, Kashmir.

The timings in the schools outside the municipal limits of the city shall be from 11 AM to 4 PM, it said.
The change in timings has been effected in the wake of ensuing winters. Timings are changed twice every year in the valley due to change in season.
