Bukhari informed the Legislative Council that the government has approved upgradation of 200 middle schools (100 in each division) to the level of high school and 200 high schools (100 in each division) to the level of higher secondary school.
Replying to a question, the minister said the upgradation of these schools would be done as per the existing norms and feasibility and compatibility of GIS Mapping.
The upgradation of these schools shall be subject to availability of funds for creation of requisite staff and infrastructure, he added.
He further informed that 86 teachers have been appointed in the Jammu district recently adding that the department has also initiated the process of rationalisation of staff and consolidation of resources.
He further said the process of finalisation of RET selection panels were pending in the department.
