Vaid advised the new 790 recruits to work with dedication for peace in the state.

"Police service is a noble service and the passing out recruits have a pride to join the family of Jammu and Kashmir Police for the service of the nation," he said.

B B Vyas, Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor, who was the chief guest on the occasion, lauded the role of the police force for upholding professionalism amid challenging situation.

"I congratulate the police force for continuously working for the welfare of the people with dedication. I am proud of the Jammu and Kashmir police for proving its mettle in the difficult times," he said.

Vyas said there are many more challenges ahead for the police force in view of a series of upcoming elections.

We have decided to hold local bodies polls and police has to deal with this challenge and fulfill its role, he said.
