Set to reach out to maximum number of young people over right of franchise for stronger democracy, District Election Authority here has planned to get at least 1 lakh 'Sankalp Patra' signed through children.
District Election Authority has planned to cover all the schools of Jammu city as well as other schools in the rural areas and get at least 1 lakh Sankalp Patra signed through children in Jammu, District Electoral Officer (DEO), Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu said today.
While speaking on the occasion, the DEO exhorted the students, especially new voters to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming assembly elections and act as change makers to spread the message of electoral participation for stronger democracy and to uphold the democratic traditions of the nation.
He impressed upon the students to be the messengers who should spread this message to the public and to their families at their respective places for greater participation in the elections.
Continuing its innovative interventions to reach out to maximum number of people and sensitise them about their right to franchise for stronger democracy, District Election Officer launched Sankalp Patra Campaign as part of Wake Up Jammu programme under SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education And Electoral Participation).
