According to an official release, the government decided to honour Sevaiva posthumously and the injured SSP and his body guard for their undaunted role in countering Maoists at Dulmi village in neighbouring Khunti district.
Chief Minister Raghubar Das has given consent for recommendation of President's Medal to the Ranchi SSP, which would be intimated to the Centre, the release said.
The release quoted Chief Minister Raghubar Das as saying the state's development and honour were affected due to Maoists and they should know that the government would leave no stone unturned in uprooting Naxalites from the state.
Das issued orders for promotion to injured Faisal from constable to head-constable, it added.
The Chief Minister also visited the hospital where the SSP and Faisal are recovering.
