J'khand has produced 3 lakh tonne seeds in 2016

A total three lakh tonne seeds have been produced in 2016 as Jharkhand marched towards self-sustenance in seed production.
Saying it at a review meeting of the agriculture department, Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma asked officials to begin procuring seeds by the Seed Corporation from this month end, an official release said here.
She said 500 beej grams (seed villages) would be set up and farmers would get them anytime, the release said.
The Chief Secretary said several other initiatives were also taken for the farmers.
