JAC denounce 3 Manipur govt bills

In a resolution adopted by tribal conclave at Churachandpur town of state today, three Manipur government bills were rejected.
This was stated in a release by the Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed for tribals who died in the movement for anti-tribal bills passed in Manipur Assembly on August 31 last.
The conclave also decried the elected political leaders of the state alleging they professed anti-tribal attitude and came in support of the demand for separate political administration for hill areas of Manipur by underground outfits.
"We condemn the three bills i) the Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015, ii) The Manipur land Revenue and land Reform (Seventh Amendment) Bill, 2015 and iii) The Shops and Establishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 20115 passed by Manipur Assembly on August 31 last within 10 minutes and 9 seconds time without discussion and for not referring to the Hill Areas Committee of the state Assembly," the release said.

The conclave also resolved that the three state government bills will not function in the areas managed and administered by Autonomous District Councils, the release said.
It was decided to urge the state government to convene a special Assembly session to pass another bill for exclusion of areas under Autonomous District Council jurisdiction within September 30 next, the release said.
