The official website of Jadavpur University was today allegedly hacked and pornography posted on it.
University Registrar Pradip Ghosh said the university removed the offensive content after being informed about it.
"We have alerted the police also since this is a cyber crime," he told PTI.
The website was hacked in September last year when the students were agitating to demand Vice Chancellor's resignation and showed him saying sorry.
"Now we need to add an extra layer of security into our system so that it doesn't happen again," Ghosh said, adding that the act seems to be a part of some mischievous conspiracy to malign the varsity.
