"The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway which was closed yesterday due to massive landslides at several places, including Ramban, Banihal, Sherbibi and Panthal, continued to remain closed for the second consecutive day today," SSP Traffic, National Highway, Sanjay Kotwal told PTI.
He said with an improvement in weather conditions, operations to clear the debris from the 300-km long highway have started. However no movement of fresh vehicles would be allowed today.
"Our men and machinery are busy clearing the debris from the highway. No new vehicles would be allowed to ply on the highway until the entire stretch is cleared and becomes safe for traffic," Kotwal said.
