Jamshedpur experiences hottest day

The steel city of Jamshedpur and surrounding areas today experienced hottest day of the season with the mercury soaring above 44 degree Celsius.
The maximum temperature recorded was 44.4 degree Celsius, which is seven degree Celsius above normal, while the minimum temperature was 28.6 degree Celsius, two degree above normal, met office sources said.
Several schools in the steel city have extended the summer vacation upto standard V for one week.
The schools had been scheduled to reopen on Monday after the summer vacation but we have decided to extend it for a week for students upto standard V in view of the intense heat wave, said A P R Nair, President of Unaided School Association.
