Speaking at the "Aadiperukku" festival jointly organised by Tourism and Information and Publicity Departments at the famous tourist spot of Hogenakkal in the district, he said tourism would promote national integration as people from different states shared their culture.
The Chief Minister's Vision 2023 had several schemes for tourism development in the State, he added.
Education Minister P.Palaniyappa ninaugurated the festival.
On the occasion, Rs. 2.17 crore worth welfare measures were distributed to 547 beneficiaries at the function, where cultural programmes were presented.
