Jaya grants Rs 10 lakh as solatium to family of army man

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa today granted Rs 10 lakh solatium to the family of Subedar G Annamalai, who died in Arunachal Pradesh during "Operation Falcon" on August 18.
"Subedar G Annamalai, hailing from Vellore district, was leading a team during 'Operation Falcon' in Arunachal Pradesh on August 18 to rescue landslide victims when he slipped and died on the spot after a landslide. I deeply condole his demise," she said in a statement.
The Chief Minister said she has issued orders to grant Rs 10 lakh compensation to the bereaved family members.
