Aimed at stepping up the infrastructure facilities across Tamil Nadu, a series of bridges, subways and tourist bungalows constructed at a cost of Rs 365.76 crore was inaugurated by Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa here on Friday.

At a function held at Secretariat, Jayalalithaa formally unveiled the bridges and the newly constructed buildings through a video-conference facility, an official release said.

Some of the salient features of the inauguration include construction of railway bridge at Vyasarpadi in Chennai at a cost of Rs 80.68 crore, bridges in Tirumangalam and Moolakadai built at a cost of Rs 109.78 crore, it said.

Tourist bungalows constructed at Mettur, Paramakudi at a cost of Rs 74 lakh were also unveiled by Jayalailthaa on the occasion.

Highways Miniser 'Edappadi' K Palaniswamy, Chief Secretary K Gnanadesikan were among those who were present on the occasion.
