A JCB driver, who had allegedly killed his owner and thrown his body into Hindan Canal here, was today arrested, police said.
Indirapuram police today arrested JCB driver Lala for allegedly killing his owner Shamsuddin (28), SHO Gorakh Nath Yadav said.
A body was recovered from Hindan Canal on March 29 which was later identified as Shamsuddin, a native of Bulandshahr, he said, adding that his JCB machine was engaged in earth digging work near the Canal.
On March 29, he rebuked Lala on mobile phone for carelessness upon which he felt humiliated and threatened to leave the job and finally left the site.
In the evening, Lala reached the site and strangled Shamsuddin with the help of a bamboo stick while he was taking a nap on the seat of JCB.
After throwing his body into canal, he fled the spot, he said.
"Lala has been arrested on the basis of call details report (CDR). During interrogation he has confessed to the crime," the officer added.
