The party, an ally of BJP-led NDA, is contesting the elections on its own and will field candidates in 105 seats.
"We have released the first list of 51 candidates for the Assembly elections today and shall be releasing the second list of remaining candidates in three days. Our thrust would be on seats in Saurashtra region," Gujarat JDU president Chotu Vasva told PTI.
In the first list, 26 candidates have been fielded in districts of Saurashtra region like Surendranagar (6), Rajkot (5), Jamnagar (5), Bhavnagar (4), Amreli (3) and Junagadh (3).
Voting for the first phase of the Assembly elections will be held on December 13.
Of the 87 constituencies in the first phase, 48 are in Saurashtra region, 35 in South Gujarat and four in Ahmedabad rural area.
The second phase of polling for the remaining 95 seats will take place on December 17, while counting will be done on December 20.
