Jennifer Love Hewitt turned down 'How I Met Your Mother' role

Actress Jennifer Love Hewitt turned down the role of Robin Scherbatsky in the hit sitcom 'How I Met Your Mother', according to the series' co-creator Craig Thomas.
The role eventually went on Cobie Smulders, who plays the character presently, reported Ace Showbiz.
In a web chat, Thomas said to a fan that "Jennifer Love Hewitt did 'The Ghost Whisperer' instead of 'How I Met Your Mother."
Thomas and co-creator Carter Bays had said in various interviews that Smulders, who was an unknown at the time, was cast in the role of Robin after their first choice turned down the offer. But they had never named the said actress.
