The "Blue is the Warmest Color" actor will portray Remi Ochlik, the French photographer, who was killed in Syria on assignment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Matthew Heineman will direct the movie from the script penned by Arash Amel, which has been adapted from Marie Brenner's 2012 Vanity Fair article 'Marie Colvin's Private War'.
Rosamund Pike plays the role of Colvin, who filed reports from conflict zones including Sri Lanka, where she lost her left eye in 2001.
The movie also stars "Fifty Shades of Grey" actor Jamie Dornan.
