If Chastain signs up for the reboot, she might be sharing the screen with Alexander Skarsgard, who has been linked to the title role.
Samuel L Jackson is rumoured to be playing a former mercenary in the film.
The film will see Tarzan living in London when he is asked to investigate some problems in the Congo.
