Jhalana forest will be country's leading leopard park: Min

Jhalana Reserve Forest here will be developed into country's leading leopard park, Rajasthan environment minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar told the assembly today.
He said Rs 7 crore has been proposed in the budget for leopard conservation.
The minister said that Central Zoo Authority has permitted translocation of 400 spotted deer and 18 sambhar deer for development of Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve (MHTR) in Kota.
He said that tiger translocation permission has also been granted by the Centre and the work will be completed by December this year.
Following the debate, the House passed the grants of over Rs 814.11 crore through voice vote.
Khinvsar also said that nature parks will be established in Banswara, Barmer, Jalore, Baran and Bhilwara districts.
He said that a team of specialists will visit abroad for training in conservation for Wood Fossil Park in Jaisalmer.
He said that villagers affected due to development of the sanctuary will be awarded better rehabilitation package.
The minister also exempted small brick kiln projects from obtaining NOC.
