"The progress is good as far as development and containing the Maoists activities is concerned but it needs to be speeded up to achieve the goal", Kumar, who was in the steel city to review the development work in East Singhbhum district, told newsmen.
Asked whether the state administration has any plan to increase the strength of the security personnel, Kumar said there was no such plan as yet.
He said Rs 250 crore Saranda Action plan for a population of 33,000 in naxal-affected villages was adequate.
Asked about the report of infiltration of Maoists from adjoining Odisha border and recovery of clamour bomb in West Singhbhum, "We are looking into it and sharing data with our counterparts in Odisha".
