"With the commissioning of this plant, the total capacity of Jindal Power Ltd has now reached 2,200 MW," Jindal Steel & Power Ltd said.
The third unit of 600 MW is ready for synchronisation, while the fourth unit of similar capacity should be commissioned by October, the company said in a statement.
"We intend to become a significant thermal power player in India over the next two years. We have a vision of having installed capacity of 10,000 MW by the year 2020 with a unique approach of amalgamating diverse forms of power, including thermal, hydro, solar and wind energy," said Ravi Uppal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Jindal Steel & Power.
