The governor may also call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him about the situation in the state which saw a bloody Monday with seven persons killed in Kulgam and bodies of two soldiers mutilated in Jammu region along the Line of Control.
Ahead of his meeting with Singh, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi today met Vohra and discussed with him the prevailing situation in the state.
During the 20-minute meeting, Mehrishi and Vohra reviewed the ground situation in the Valley and the steps taken to control the situation.
There have been protests by students in the Valley last fortnight against alleged police excesses. Students, including girls, were seen pelting stones on security personnel in these incidents.
Massive protests erupted in Kashmir after the death of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani in an encounter in July last year which continued for nearly four months. More than 90 people lost their lives, while scores of security personnel and civilians were injured.
