As a mark of respect to Lt Gen Sinha, the State Government has decided that theState Mourning shall be observed for three days from today till November 19, an official spokesman said.
As per an order issued by the General Administration Department, the national and state flag shall fly at half-mast during the State Mourning on all buildings and places where these are flown regularlyand there shall be no official entertainment and function during the three days.
General Dalbir Singh, the Chief of the Army Staff, serving and retired army personnel will pay homage to the 'Soldier Statesman' on November 18, 2016 at Brar Square, New Delhi.
The Governor of J&K NN Vohra and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti have also condoled the demise of Sinha (retd) who passed away in New Delhi today.
In a message of condolence the Governor described Lt Gen Sinha as an efficient administrator who had served people with commitment.
Heprayed for the peace to the departed soul and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family.
She said his keen interest in the development of the State would be long remembered.
The Chief Minister prayed for peace to the departed soul and conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family.
Deputy Chief Minister,Nirmal Singh has also expressed grief over the demise of Sinha.
In a message of condolence, the Deputy Chief Minister described Lt Gen Sinha as an efficient administrator who had served the country with utmost dedication and commitment, also the state of Jammu and Kashmir as a governor.
Former Chief Minister and President National Conference Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah also condoled the death of former Governor and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.
The president of the state unit of the congress GA Mir also condoled the demise of the former Governor and prayed for peace for the departed soul.
