"State government is considering appointing ISM (Indian System of Medicine) Doctors and Pharmacists at all new type PHCs opened in various parts of the state in recent past," Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan said today.
At a review meeting of the ISM department here, he said said the government has submitted to the Centre a proposal for engaging 436 ISM medicos and 436 ISM pharmacists in 436 new PHCs for approval under NRHM funding.
Under NRHM, 438 AYUSH medical officers have been engaged at PHCs. 160 posts of Ayurvedic and Unani medical officers created by corresponding reduction of equal number of posts of Assistant surgeons besides 396 AYUSH Pharmacists have also been engaged at PHCs across the state.
