It is the 6th Budget in a row of the present coalition Government to be presented in the J&K Legislative Assembly by Rather.
This will be the 14th Budget to be presented by Rather in the State Legislature so far in his political career. Before this, he has presented budgets in the year 1983, 1984, 987, 1988, 1989, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In addition to this, he has presented vote on account on two occasions.
Speaking on the occasion, Rather said every effort is being made to pool all the available resources to make the Budget proposals representative to the urges and aspirations of the people and also stake holders.
He said it shall be my endeavour to present a people friendly budget as far as possible keeping the resources of the state into consideration.
Rather said that the budget proposals to be presented by him tomorrow in the J&K Legislative Assembly will be discussed threadbare by the members of the House adding that every member and political party shall have the adequate opportunity to present their views on the budget proposals.
Rather said, before formulating next year's budget, he has undertaken an exhaustive exercise of pre-budget consultations with all the stakeholders, including trade, industry, transporters, intellectuals, academicians and progressive farmers of both Jammu and Kashmir divisions to get first hand appraisal of their demands and suggestions.
