Vohra has conveyed to the Union Minister of Law and Justice his endorsement and agreement of the state government to the recommendations of the Chief Justice of India for appointment of N N Paul Vasanthakumar as the next Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court, an official spokesman said today.
Justice Vasanthakumar is at present the senior most puisne judge of Madras High Court.
The Governor has, through a separate communication to the Union Minister for Law and Justice, also conveyed his endorsement and the agreement of the state government to the Chief Justice of India's proposal for the transfer of Justice Bawa Singh Walia, additional judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court, to Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
