Olympic wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt today asked why the video in which a youth was seen tied allegedly to an army jeep as a human shield was "creating ripples" when no questions were raised at stone pelting on the forces.
The wrestler, who hails from Sonepat in Haryana, hit out at those raising fingers at the Army after the controversial video surfaced recently.
"Save them from floods, then face the stones...That time some people have no problem. Now when the Army has not killed anyone, but only tied the hands and legs, the situation has become worrisome," he said in a tweet.
The video was reportedly shot in Beerwah area of Budgam district where miscreants disrupted polling during Sunday's bypoll to Srinagar Lok Sabha constituency by pelting stones. It is being widely shared on social networks in Kashmir and is drawing condemnation.
"Those who are asking who has been to Kashmir how many times...I must tell them do not try to sensationalise things while sitting in air conditioned rooms. From each household in Haryana, one member is serving in the armed forces," Dutt said in another tweet.
Meanwhile, in a latest development, two videos showing military personnel beating up youth and forcing them to shout anti-Pakistan slogans, are doing rounds on social media after which the Army said that it would ascertain the veracity of the footage and take appropriate action.
