"A trap was laid by the vigilance sleuths following which the manager of Ellaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) and another official were caught red-handedwhile accepting Rs 2,000 bribe from thecomplainant in Pranoo area of Doda district," an official spokesman said.
On the basis of a complaint filed by Nisar Ahmed of Thalroo Pranoo Tehsil, a case was registered against Ominder Kharoo, Manager and Reyaz Ahmed (Messenger), Ellaquai Dehati Bank, he said.
In his complaint, Ahmed alleged that the officials had demanded a sum of Rs 10,000 as illegal gratification from him for sanctioning a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loan in his favour.
