Delhi Police's Special Cell, which is investigating sedition charges against JNU students, today set up a team to analyse the over 2,400-page case diary given by south district police, which had originally registered the case in this matter.
A police source said a team has been constituted to thoroughly analyse the case dairy provided by south district police.
"The two accused students -- Khalid and Anirban -- whom we interrogated yesterday, were today sent to judicial custody," the source said.
Earlier this week, the case was transferred to the Special Cell, Delhi Police's counter-terrorism unit, with Police Commissioner BS Bassi, who retired yesterday, saying the matter needed "focussed investigation".
Meanwhile, sources in south district police claimed that sleuths were close to ascertaining the identities of two of the four unidentified men, whose faces were covered with mufflers in the video clip and were allegedly seen raising anti-national slogans at the JNU event.
On February 9, an event was organised on JNU campus to protest against the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru during which anti-national slogans were allegedly raised.
Two days later, Delhi Police registered a case of sedition and criminal conspiracy in connection with the event.
JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested in the case on February 12 and, around 10 days later, Khalid and Anirban resurfaced on the varsity campus before surrendering to police.
Earlier this week, investigators in south district had interrogated Kanhaiya, Khalid and Anirban together for a day at RK Puram police station following which police identified as many as 22 persons who allegedly participated in the JNU event.
