The 71-year-old star will join Anna Kendrick, Elizabeth Banks, Hailee Steinfeld and Rebel Wilson in the upcoming threequel to 2012 romantic musical "Pitch Perfect", reported AceShowbiz.
Besides "The Crown," Lithgow also appeared in the action thriller "The Accountant" opposite Ben Affleck and Kendrick, and in "Miss Sloane" starring Jessica Chastain.
Directed by Trish Sie, "Pitch Perfect 3" is scheduled to hit the US theatres on December 22 this year.
