Journalists Forum welcome hike in Journalists pension

Senior Journalists Forum-Kerala today welcomed Finance Minister K M Mani's budgetary proposal to hike the Jouranlists Welfare Pension amount to Rs 8,000 from Rs 7,000.
Forum General Secretary, A Madhavan, in a statement requested Finance Minister and Information Minister K C Joseph, to increase the pension amount of Distressed journalists, Dependents and eminent jouranlists, proportionate to this hike.
As of now, the dependents and distressed are getting only Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000 respectively.
