The Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee of the BCCI met in Kolkata today to announce seven venues for India's ODI series against Australia later in the year.
The home town of Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be hosting one of the matches.
JSCA International cricket stadium here had hosted the India-England one-dayer on January 19 this year and got two IPL matches earlier this month.
"Impressed by flawless conduct of maiden ODI and IPL games, the BCCI has awarded another ODI to Ranchi during Australia series beginning this October. It is an unprecedented departure from the usual practice," a JSCA press release said.
