The Sajjan Jindal-led firm had clocked a crude steel production of 10.46 lakh tonnes (LT) during the same month last year, it said in a BSE filing.
The production of flat-rolled products declined 11 per cent at 7.34 LT last month from a year ago whereas that of long-rolled products increased by 34 per cent at 2.06 LT during the same period, it added.
"Crude steel production was lower due to planned shutdown of blast furnace at Dolvi works for capacity enhancement and shutdown of one of the blast furnaces for relining at Vijayanagar works," the firm said.
JSW's crude steel production was lower at 3.25 million tonnes (MT) for the July-September quarter of 2015-16 compared with 3.30 MT in the same quarter of 2014-15.
Flat-rolled products production fell 2 per cent at 2.57 MT while production of long-rolled products increased by 15 per cent at 0.64 MT in the September quarter of this fiscal.
