The strike would continue as long as the authorities do not release advocate Narendra Dev and his assistant Madhusudan Singh, jailed for allegedly misbehaving with first class judicial magistrate Sangita Rani last month, District Lawyers' Association president Anirudh Prasad and the General Secretary Rajiv Kumar Dwivedi said today.
They said the Association has written to Patna High Court Chief Justice Rekha M Doshit requesting her intervention for release of the advocate and his assistant.
Dev and his assistant had surrendered before Chief Judicial Magistrate S P Mishra and were remanded to judicial custody after a case was lodged against them under the SC/ST Act by Rani alleging that they had misbehaved with her and used caste-related words against her.
