"Game of Thrones" star Jason Momoa, who will make his debut in the DC cinematic universe as the Aquaman, says people should wait and watch before cracking jokes on the Atlantian hero.
Momoa, 36, known for playing Khal Drogo on the fantasy series, will be seen playing Aquaman in next year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and said there will not be any jokes on the character after the movie, reported Entertainment Weekly.
When an audience member asked him about the Aquaman fish jokes, Momoa replied, "It's cute and funny. People make fun of him. There's a bunch of jokes about him, but I'm like, 'Just wait. Let's just wait a little bit, and then you can make jokes.'"
A solo film for the character, "Aquaman", directed by James Wan, is scheduled to release in 2018.
Earlier, Momoa had said even though Aquaman has been ignored in the past, this time the character will be revamped.
"The whole mythology of Aquaman is pretty amazing. There's so many things to tell, and there's a whole backstory... There's a lot of surprises coming. I think he's been cast aside (in the past).
"But... Times are going to change now, buddy... We don't want to just reinvent it, but (Zack Snyder has) got a whole idea of what Aquaman should be.
