A rail link connecting Kalyan station on Central line with Vashi on the harbour line is on the cards.
The link will have an elevated railway track from Kalwa to Digha stations, according to railway sources.
This information was given to the newly-elected Kalyan MP Srikant Shinde who visited various railway stations on Central Railway to get the firsthand feel of the facilities at these stations.
Kalwa station master S K Gupta gave details of the new proposed railway line.
