Kamat's 124 takes Goa to 265-7 against HP in Ranji

Sagun Kamat scored an unbeaten 124 as Goa reached 265 for seven against Himachal Pradesh on the opening day of their Group C Ranji Trophy match at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium here today.
Put into bat, Goa found themselves in a spot of bother as they were reduced to 19 for four in 9 overs but Kamat took the onus and shared 156-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Snehal Kauthankar (74) to ressurect the innings.
Rishi Dhawan returned with a five-wicket haul to trigger the top-order collapse as he dismissed Swapnil Asnodkar (1), Dheeraj Jadhav (1), Darshan Misal (4) early on before returning to get rid of Kauthankar in the 67th over and R Keni (0) in the 69th over.
Kamat and Rituraj Singh (31) added 57 for the seventh wicket before the latter was sent back to the hut by Akshay Chauhan (2/48) in the 82nd over.
At stumps, Kamat and SB Jakati (15) were at the crease.
